Our pastors are more than leaders. They're part of our church family. They serve with love, faith, and a genuine heart for people. We invite you to meet the men and women who walk alongside our church pointing lives toward Jesus.
SENIOR PASTOR
George and Annie Akers
Pastor Akers has been part of the FAC family since his father (Bishop G. L. Akers) took the pastorate in 1967. Pastor Akers worked alongside his father in ministry at FAC for many years before he married Annie Akers in 1986. Pastor Akers was installed as Senior Pastor of FAC in 1988. Pastor Akers has served in multiple district and national positions for the Assemblies of the Lord Jesus Christ (ALJC) and has authored two books and a home bible study. Pastor Akers' greatest joy is in discipling new Christians with home bible studies. He is also a talented musician and singer.
If you're learning about FAC, you'll want to know about Annie Akers. She is wife to the Senior Pastor and mother of the Associate Pastor. While Sister Akers is a gifted singer and administrator at FAC, her true passion is in loving people.
Pastor Akers and Sister Akers have three children: George Akers III (wife, Jordan Akers), Adam Akers (wife, Kayla Akers), and Hillary Hayes (husband, Aaron Hayes). They have five grandchildren: Leila, Piper, George, Jane, and Ellis.
ASSOCIATE PASTOR
Adam and Kayla Akers
Pastor Adam was born and raised in the FAC family. He is the second-born child of Pastor George and Annie Akers. Pastor Adam has been part of multiple ministries at FAC most of his life. He has traveled to Tiawan, India, and Germany to work with missionaries. Pastor Adam married Kayla Akers in 2016. In 2018, Pastor Adam and Sister Kayla were put on the pastoral staff at FAC. Pastor Adam is passionate about discipling new members at FAC. He is also an accomplished musician.
Those who come to FAC will surely be greeted by Kayla Akers. Sister Kayla is passionate about helping everyone feel welcomed at FAC. She works in multiple ministries at FAC and leads the Bible Quizzing ministry.
Pastor Adam and Sister Kayla welcomed their son Ellis in 2025.
